Modern Australia

This programme examines Australia’s first faltering steps toward finding a distinctive identity. From Federation to the dismissal of the Whitlam Government, Australians are explored in light of the tumultuous events of the 20th Century. World events transformed Australia from a collection of separate colonies into a nation who hold diversity and egalitarianism dear and yet have a unique culture which is admired throughout the world.
