Live Streaming

A passion for history is what started Living History Australia (LHA) on its journey back in 1998. Our vision and mission remain the same today: to share our passion for history with Australian students in a unique, fun and educational way. We do this through the delivery of curriculum based historical incursions for students in years 4 -10. Since our inception we have presented to over 350,000 students in more than 3,000 Australian schools.

Whilst we continue to deliver our programs face to face in both two-hour presentation and full activity day formats in the greater metropolitan areas of Brisbane and Sydney, we also recognise that, thanks to COVID-19, we are living in a new world where digital and online learning are playing a far greater role in our children’s education than ever before.

Our ‘Yesterday Today’ live streaming format has been developed to embrace this new teaching platform, combining Yesterday’s knowledge with Today’s technology.

This new digital format frees us from the practical constraints of time and distance and allows us to visit the classroom of any school in Australia, while still remaining ‘in person’. Thanks to live streaming teachers and students will still be interacting in the presentation by being able to ask the historical ‘guests’ questions in real time, online during the show.

The Yesterday Today program offers:

  • 70 minute live stream presentations designed to fit into a double period
  • Live streaming directly to your classroom via ‘Zoom’ (other platforms by negotiation)
  • Shows are delivered in a talk-show style format where our host will interview curriculum based historical characters
  • Teachers and students can participate directly with the performance by asking online questions for the historical guests to answer during the show
  • Interesting short, pre-recorded vignettes demonstrating crafts such as “How is chain maille made?” and “How do you light a fire with just flint and steel?”
  • Fun historical advertisements …

Our live streaming presentations are offered on a range of specific dates and times throughout the year making it easy to find a convenient time for you.
